Cassie is an experienced legal practitioner, having been admitted to practice in 1994 after graduating in law from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts.
Cassie places great importance on personal integrity, creating trust and delivering legal services to a high level. As a result of her experience as a client and a sophisticated user of legal services, she is committed to providing strategic, commercial, and cost-effective outcomes to clients.
Cassie has extensive experience in gathering and assessing evidence, evaluating outcomes and commercial risks, making recommendations, and negotiating matters to mediated outcomes. She is also aware of the sensitivities and reputational risks to her clients arising from litigation.
In her over 25 years in litigation, Cassie has worked in both government and private practice, with a strong focus on health law, including as an in-house solicitor/claims manager for a medical indemnity insurer. She has managed litigation for a regulator and conducted professional disciplinary regulation matters in respect to both medical and legal practitioners and professional indemnity insurance matters, with a significant focus on medical negligence.
